Meet our trusty workboat - The Muffin II

The Muffin II was built in Harpswell, ME in 1987. It is a modified lobster boat of the "Pointer" design, which was originally developed in this part of Casco Bay.

As for the name... No one knows the origin, nor what happened to the Muffin I.

I was advised that it is unwise to change the name of a boat- at least without re-christening it. As any oyster-lover knows, there are better uses for champagne.

Besides, I think it is growing on me.
