Winnegance oysters are sustainably farmed in the New Meadows River in West Bath, ME.
Our oysters have a medium brine, pronounced sweetness, and lingering savory-meaty finish. Oysters are typically harvested at 3” and are available from April until December.
The farm was founded 2014 by a former wildlife biologist and was designed to be compatible with the natural environment of the New Meadows River.
Since 2016, Winnegance Oyster Farm has been engaged in aquaculture research largely through the USDA's Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, with projects investigating tidal powered tumbling, crop shading, and development of quahog and sea urchin farming techniques.
